Depuis, la technologie du DVD a progress\u00e9, les artisans du num\u00e9rique ont affin\u00e9 leur savoir-faire. Et entre-temps, les studios ont \u00e9dit\u00e9 des DVD d\u2019autres classiques comme Casablanca, Le Tr\u00e9sor de la Sierra Madre, Le Faucon maltais, ainsi que de vieux films muets de Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, sur lesquels ces progr\u00e8s sont visibles, si bien que la premi\u00e8re version num\u00e9rique de Citizen Kane n\u2019\u00e9tait plus \u00e0 la hauteur.<\/p>\n<p>Elle \u00e9tait trop \u00e9clatante, trop propre. Elle avait \u00e9t\u00e9 bien d\u00e9crass\u00e9e, mais avait perdu en texture, en profondeur et en grain.<\/p>\n<p>Tout aussi impeccable (pour ne pas dire immacul\u00e9e), la version Blu-ray a su garder la texture, le grain et tous les d\u00e9tails. Sur les plans \u00e9tonnants o\u00f9 Orson Welles et son directeur de la photo Greg Toland \u00e9clairent le d\u00e9cor pour que tout soit net de l\u2019avant-plan \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re-plan, tout est parfaitement distinct. Dans le dernier plan, qui montre toutes les vieilleries accumul\u00e9es par Kane, on identifie clairement chaque objet. Qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse des visages, du bric-\u00e0-brac sur les \u00e9tag\u00e8res, du contraste saisissant entre les sc\u00e8nes tr\u00e8s sombres et les sc\u00e8nes tr\u00e8s \u00e9clair\u00e9es ou encore de celles o\u00f9 dominent les nuances de gris, tout est net et rappelle la pellicule.
