La Nieuwe Waterweg permet le passage des navires entre les r\u00e9gions europ\u00e9ennes arros\u00e9es par le Rhin et la mer du Nord. Elle a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le important dans le d\u00e9veloppement du port de Rotterdam. La qualit\u00e9 des voies navigables est en partie responsable de cette stagnation. Ce nouveau passage permet alors aux r\u00e9gions du bassin du Rhin, et \u00e0 la r\u00e9gion de la Ruhr, de d\u00e9velopper rapidement leur \u00e9conomie et leur commerce. Bar sur la plage<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous prenons le temps d&rsquo;appr\u00e9cier le d\u00e9cor et la plage, puis nous remontons sur notre monture. Direction maintenant Amsterdam o\u00f9 nous passerons deux jours et demi avant de prendre le chemin du retour. Nous revenons quelque peu sur nos pas et pouvons contempler les kilom\u00e8tres de serres o\u00f9 poussent nos tomates, nos poivrons et nos fleurs qui prendront ensuite la route pour toute l&rsquo;Europe. Nous longeons \u00e0 nouveau des terres agricoles et des canaux. A un moment donn\u00e9, raccourcissant notre route, un passage \u00e0 gu\u00e9 nous attend. Le passage se nomme Nesserluis et accueille des habitu\u00e9s du coin. La barge fonctionne avec un c\u00e2ble tel un funiculaire, mais sur l&rsquo;eau et \u00e0 plat. Le marinier est tout surpris de voir passer un touriste par l\u00e0.
