D&rsquo;autant que l&rsquo;article est tr\u00e8s synth\u00e9tique et clair tout en pr\u00e9sentant ceux-ci du point d e vue de l&rsquo;auteur lui-m\u00eame.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, il revient plus particuli\u00e8rement sur les raisons de ses r\u00e9serves \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9gard des technologies \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cole, des discours les promouvant et sur leurs capacit\u00e9s \u00e0 changer les pratiques et l&rsquo;institution scolaire.<\/p>\n<p>Il profite donc de ce billet pour r\u00e9pondre aux questions qui lui sont r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement pos\u00e9e concernant ce scepticisme technologique. A l&rsquo;une de ces questions, il en profite d&rsquo;ailleurs de pr\u00e9ciser qu&rsquo;il est un utilisateur r\u00e9gulier de celles-ci \u2014 il poss\u00e8de aujourd&rsquo;hui un ordinateur de bureau, un ordinateur portable, un iPad et un iPhone \u2014\u00a0tant pour son usage propre que dans son enseignement\u00a0depuis les ann\u00e9es 1950\u2026 \u00e0 l&rsquo;exception de PowerPoint.<\/p>\n<p>Le passage suivant r\u00e9sume le mieux, \u00e0 mon avis, ses r\u00e9serves \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9gard des technologies \u00e9ducatives :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00abthe enormous amount of money spent on new technologies without much evidence of their efficacy on teaching and learning means that other options such as investing in more teachers and their professional development are lost. That is inefficient and ineffective policymaking.\u00bb<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Rappelons, en outre, que Larry Cuban est un enseignant progressiste. Il n&rsquo;est pas un conservateur en mani\u00e8re \u00e9ducative, bien au contraire. En 1984, il a publi\u00e9 un livre important intitul\u00e9 <em>\u00abHow Teachers Taught: Constancy and Change in American Classrooms, 1890-1980.\u00bb<\/em> Et comme il le dit lui-m\u00eame :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00abIn that book, I tracked the repeated (and failed) efforts of progressive reformers over a century to change classroom practice in urban, suburban, and rural classrooms from teacher-centered to student-centered lessons. The idea that reforming teaching was linked to the introduction of new technologies intrigued me. \u00bb<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>De\u00a0<em>How Teacher Thaught<\/em>\u00a0(1984) \u00e0\u00a0<em>Oversold and Underused: Computers in Classrooms<\/em>\u00a0(2001), le grand m\u00e9rite des travaux de Cuban est d&rsquo;avoir syst\u00e9matiquement observ\u00e9 non pas les discours sur les pratiques, mais les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s de celle-ci dans les classes avec ou sans ordinateurs.
