La multiplication de ressources en ligne a exacerb\u00e9 le probl\u00e8me. Un travail men\u00e9 par\u00a0McGowan et Lightbody avec des \u00e9tudiants a permis \u00e0 la fois de conscientiser les \u00e9tudiants et d&rsquo;obtenir ensuite des r\u00e9sultats\u00a0convaincants.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Des \u00e9tudes montrent \u00e9galement que les \u00e9tudiants ne pensent pas que les principes d&rsquo;appropriation s&rsquo;appliquent aux ressources en ligne de la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on que pour des documents imprim\u00e9s. Enfin, de nombreux professeurs ma\u00eetrisent\u00a0encore du mal les r\u00e8gles du r\u00e9f\u00e9rencement qui s&rsquo;appliquent \u00e0 des ressources Web.<\/p>\n<p>McGowan et Lightbody ont propos\u00e9 \u00e0 leurs \u00e9tudiants un travail sp\u00e9cifique pour travailler concr\u00e8tement et de mani\u00e8re non stigmatisante avec eux la question du plagiat en mixant des ressources en lignes ou issues de la biblioth\u00e8que, y compris une revue acad\u00e9mique,\u00a0une publication professionnelle et un journal. Les \u00e9tudiants avaient \u00e0 travailler sur un essai comportant 10 exemples de plagiat. Certains passages \u00e9taient\u00a0copi\u00e9s mot pour mot, d&rsquo;autres utilisaient la paraphrase pour des phrases ou des paragraphes et d&rsquo;autres reprenaient les id\u00e9es des auteurs ou les donn\u00e9es de leurs recherches sans le mentionner.<\/p>\n<p>Pour identifier ses emprunts, les \u00e9tudiants\u00a0ont eu \u00e0 consulter les sources originales et les utiliser pour identifier le contenu plagi\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;essai. Puis ils ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 l&rsquo;essai avec les cas de plagiat corrig\u00e9s. Ils ont \u00e9galement d\u00fb pr\u00e9parer une synth\u00e8se correctement r\u00e9f\u00e9renc\u00e9es en 250 mots de l&rsquo;essai rectifi\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Avant ce travail, 32% des \u00e9tudiants ayant r\u00e9alis\u00e9 cette t\u00e2che la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e et 42% la deuxi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e avaient, pr\u00e9alablement \u00e0 ce travail, un bonne connaissance initiale du plagiat et de ses manifestations. Lors de la correction de l&rsquo;essai, les \u00e9tudiants \u00e9taient \u00e0 70% au moins en mesure d&rsquo;identifier et d&rsquo;apporter les corrections n\u00e9cessaires pour \u00e9viter le plagiat. Apr\u00e8s le travail, ce pourcentage est pass\u00e9 \u00e0 85% pour les deux vol\u00e9es d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants.<\/p>\n<p>Plus r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur encore, aucun nouveau cas de plagiat ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9tect\u00e9s avec ces deux vol\u00e9es, et l&rsquo;instructeur d&rsquo;un cours suivi ult\u00e9rieurement par ces \u00e9tudiants a not\u00e9 une baisse importante du nombre de cas de plagiat.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9tude : McGowan, S., and Lightbody, M.
