Ce n\u2019est pas une r\u00e9volution p\u00e9dagogique, dans la mesure o\u00f9 les principes qui la sous-tendent existent depuis longtemps. On la retrouve dans les courants de p\u00e9dagogie nouvelle du d\u00e9but du XXe si\u00e8cle.<br \/>\nEn revanche, ce qui est r\u00e9volutionnaire, c\u2019est la diffusion \u201cvirale\u201d de la classe invers\u00e9e, qui se fait par les acteurs de l\u2019\u00e9ducation, sur le terrain. C\u2019est une r\u00e9volution de l\u2019\u00e9ducation, au sens o\u00f9 ce sont les acteurs, dans les classes, qui s\u2019en emparent et la partagent \u2013 sans que cela soit impos\u00e9 par l\u2019Education nationale. Des pratiques se diffusent entre enseignants.
