Il y a l\u00e0 mati\u00e8re \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur les comp\u00e9tences \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper en la mati\u00e8re aupr\u00e8s de nos \u00e9l\u00e8ves.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Dans un article qui vient de para\u00eetre, Alan Jacobs (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iasc-culture.org\/THR\/THR_article_2018_Spring_Jacobs.php\">Tending the Digital Commons: A Small Ethics toward the Future<\/a><\/em>) dresse, de mani\u00e8re qu\u2019il qualifie lui-m\u00eame d\u2019entreprise moins ambitieuse que l\u2019apprentissage du code souhait\u00e9e et pr\u00e9conis\u00e9e en \u00e9ducation, une premi\u00e8re liste d\u2019habilit\u00e9s que chaque jeune utilisant r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement un ordinateur devrait apprendre et ma\u00eetriser. En voici la liste<sup><a id=\"ffn1\" class=\"footnote\" href=\"#fn1\">1<\/a><\/sup>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>comment choisir un nom de domaine<\/li>\n<li>comment acheter ce domaine<\/li>\n<li>comment choisir un bon provider de nom de domaine<\/li>\n<li>comment choisir un bon h\u00e9bergeur.<\/li>\n<li>comment trouver un bon \u00e9diteur de texte gratuit<\/li>\n<li>comment transf\u00e9rer des ficher sur et depuis un serveur<\/li>\n<li>comment \u00e9crire basiquement en html, incluant des liens \u00e0 des fichiers CSS (Cascading Style Sheet)<\/li>\n<li>comment trouver de mod\u00e8les de CSS gratuits<\/li>\n<li>comment bricoler dans ces mod\u00e8les pour les adapter \u00e0 mes besoins<\/li>\n<li>comment \u00e9diter de mani\u00e8re basique des photographies<\/li>\n<li>comment citer ses sources et les lier aux documents originaux<\/li>\n<li>comment utiliser les m\u00e9dias sociaux pour partager ce que vous avez cr\u00e9\u00e9 sur votre propre territoire plut\u00f4t que de cr\u00e9ez au sein d\u2019une usine fortifi\u00e9e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pour Jacobs, il s\u2019agit des comp\u00e9tences rudimentaires que doivent poss\u00e9der toute personne qui veut \u00eatre un citoyen responsable du Web ouvert (Open WEb) \u2014 et pour ne pas \u00eatre pieds et poings li\u00e9s aux grandes plate-formes num\u00e9riques.<\/p>\n<p>Il ne s\u2019agit cependant pas, admet-il lui-m\u00eame d\u2019une ind\u00e9pendance totale :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A person who possesses and uses the skills on my list will still be dependent on organizations like ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and its subsidiary IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority), and the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). But these are nonprofit organizations, and are moving toward less entanglement with government. For instance, IANA worked for eighteen years under contract with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, a bureau of the US Department of Commerce, but that contract expired in October 2016, and IANA and ICANN are now run completely by an international community of volunteers.<sup><a id=\"ffn2\" class=\"footnote\" href=\"#fn2\">2<\/a><\/sup> Similarly, the W3C, which controls the protocols by which computers on the Web communicate with one another and display information to users, is governed by a heterogenous group that included, at the time of writing, not only universities, libraries, and archives from around the world but also Fortune 500 companies\u2014a few of them being among those walled factories I have been warning against.<sup><a id=\"ffn3\" class=\"footnote\" href=\"#fn3\">3<\/a><\/sup><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Il met en avant les avantages d\u2019un mod\u00e8le organisationnel d\u00e9centralis\u00e9, coupler avec un important travail de volontaires. Et il adh\u00e8re aux objectifs du mouvement <em> <a href=\"https:\/\/reclaimhosting.com\/domain-of-ones-own\/\">Domain of One\u2019s Own (DoOO)<\/a><\/em> dont <a href=\"http:\/\/audreywatters.com\">Audrey Watters<\/a> est l\u2019une des avocates les plus brillantes qu\u2019il lui ait \u00e9t\u00e9 donn\u00e9 d\u2019observer et qu\u2019il cite :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>By providing students and staff with a domain, I think we can start to address this [effort to achieve digital independence]. Students and staff can start to see how digital technologies work\u2014those that underpin the Web and elsewhere. They can think about how these technologies shape the formation of their understanding of the world\u2014how knowledge is formed and shared; how identity is formed and expressed. They can engage with that original purpose of the Web\u2014sharing information and collaborating on knowledge-building endeavors\u2014by doing meaningful work online, in the public, with other scholars. [The goal is that] they have a space of their own online, along with the support and the tools to think about what that can look like.<sup><a id=\"ffn4\" class=\"footnote\" href=\"#fn4\">4<\/a><\/sup><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Domain of One\u2019s Down<\/em> permet ainsi aux \u00e9tudiants et aux professeurs d\u2019enregistrer un sous-domaine (ou acheter un domaine distinct) et de l\u2019associer \u00e0 espace web h\u00e9berg\u00e9 offert gratuitement par leurs universit\u00e9s. Apr\u00e8s avoir quitt\u00e9 l\u2019Universit\u00e9, les utilisateurs ont le choix de t\u00e9l\u00e9charger une sauvegarde de leurs fichiers et de leurs donn\u00e9es qui peuvent \u00eatre restaur\u00e9es en utilisant les services de la plupart des h\u00e9bergeurs.<\/p>\n<p>Le but de tel projet est d\u2019habiliter les \u00e9tudiants dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s \u00e0 cultiver activement une pr\u00e9sence en ligne savante, \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper leurs comp\u00e9tences techniques et \u00e0 choisir un ensemble d\u2019outils et de solutions pour cr\u00e9er leur propre pr\u00e9sence num\u00e9rique et de ma\u00eetriser leur identit\u00e9 en ligne. La d\u00e9marche est <a href=\"http:\/\/umw.domains\">partie des Etats-Unis<\/a> et de l\u2019initiative de <a href=\"http:\/\/jimgroom.net\">Jim Groom<\/a> et Tim Owens de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Mary Washington<sup><a id=\"ffn5\" class=\"footnote\" href=\"#fn5\">5<\/a><\/sup>. Le d\u00e9but du projet remonte \u00e0 2012, cependant des initiatives ont eu lieu d\u00e8s 2004 et les premiers blogs ont d\u00e9marr\u00e9 en 2007. En 2016 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Mary Washington comptait 2\u2019422 domaines actifs en la mati\u00e8re<sup><a id=\"ffn6\" class=\"footnote\" href=\"#fn6\">6<\/a><\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Les axes privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s par l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Mary Washington sont les suivants :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>l\u2019identit\u00e9 digitale<\/li>\n<li>la compr\u00e9hension du Web<\/li>\n<li>qu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019un domaine<\/li>\n<li>citoyennet\u00e9 digitale<\/li>\n<li>Copyright, Fair Use, Creative Commons<\/li>\n<li>donn\u00e9es propri\u00e9taires et usages<\/li>\n<li>repr\u00e9sentation (genre, race, culture, orientation sexuelles)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pour Jacobs et Watters, ce mouvement va bien au-del\u00e0 de la simple acquisition de comp\u00e9tences, il est plus radical et porte au-del\u00e0 de la seule assurance que les \u00e9tudiants en litt\u00e9rature ou en histoire ou en m\u00e9decine \u00ab\u00a0apprennent le code\u00a0\u00bb. Il s\u2019agit de reconna\u00eetre que le World Wide Web est un lieu, un espace de et pour l\u2019activit\u00e9 savante. Il s\u2019agit de responsabiliser les \u00e9tudiants devant l\u2019avenir<sup><a id=\"ffn7\" class=\"footnote\" href=\"#fn7\">7<\/a><\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Ces d\u00e9marches sont compl\u00e9mentaires, enrichiront ou s\u2019enrichissent des d\u00e9marches militantes et existantes autour de la <a href=\"https:\/\/lyonelkaufmann.ch\/histoire\/2017\/11\/03\/medias-numeriques-entre-opportunites-et-risques-lexemple-de-la-culture-du-remix\/\">culture du remix<\/a><sup><a id=\"ffn8\" class=\"footnote\" href=\"#fn8\">8<\/a><\/sup>.
